Presenter kits were developed using the following criteria:

- Each kit needs to be user friendly. In other words, kits have to be all-inclusive and designed to be used by a non-water expert.

- Each kit has to contain all supplies needed to present to all time blocks that are available during the day (our presenters have
to present a maximum of six times during the course of the day).

- Each kit has to provide the presenter with basic information about the subject for which they are presenting.

- Each kit has to contain at least one item for each child to take home with them.

- Each kit has to identify at least one entry-level water concept.

- Kits can be developed from pre-existing activities that can be easily adapted to be area or age specific.

- Each kit has to be an activity that is not commonly presented at the Festival.

- Each kit can cost no more than $500 to assemble and $100 per year to maintain or restock.

- Each kit has to be designed with storage complexities in mind. We can not provide storage for large displays or for kits having
hundreds of pieces.

Kit Components:

- All BSWF presenter kits are set up in standard components. Each component may vary in detail; however, key components in
each kit are basically the same.

- Introduction, background information, and vocabulary terms - this component provides rudimentary information on the
subject of the kit. The information should be fundamental enough for a non-technical person to absorb and specific enough to
provide answers to questions that may occur during the presentation.

- Materials list - this component provides the presenter with a complete list of everything included in the kit. Some items may not
be physically included in the kit (water, tables, etc.) but are still listed.

- Preparation time lines - this component is designed to give the presenter guidelines on the amount of prep he/she will have to
do before their first time block. These need to be very close estimates!

- Room/area set up - this component should give the presenter an idea of what type of room set up will work best for that
presentation. For example, some
presentations may require that the room be set up in "stations" so the class can be arranged in small groups, etc.

- Procedures - this component should walk the presenter step-by-step through their presentation. It should explain to the
presenter what the expected presentation outcome should be, what types of information needs to be conveyed to the students
and specifically what the activity is that the presenter and class will be working on together. We have added to the text section
of many kits "cue cards" that the presenter can use instead of having to page through the notebook during the activity.

- Final clean up - this component gives the presenter instruction on how the kit needs to be reassembled for storage. In most
kits, there will be some supply clean up (washing out pitchers, wiping off tables, rinsing out cups, etc.).

- Student hand out - We've tried to include at least one item that the students get to take home with them. These kits are not for
sale. But feel free to use them for your Festival!
